Down with pants

I have on the loosest baggy, flared leg jeans I own... And yet it feels like my pants are strangling me. STRANGLING ME!!!

I need a pickle.

Things I can't talk about-

until I can tell people I'm pregnant.

Drool is serious. Not sure if it's side effect of being nauseous or hormones, but I drool now. Like on my phone screen when I'm checking Facebook.

I sing in the car, and I start each verse swallowing the drool in my mouth so I don't choke.

Week 6

The core of my people know I'm preggers. I've been trying, so it feels weird to not update... But being so early, it's standard to not share until past the scary 1st trimester.

Basically I can't complain!! Ha!

Fertility issues.

Trying to get pregnant, as in not currently pregnant but want to be more than anything:: Someone says to me, "You look pregnant."

Oh...

I'm right.

I'm right. The dr was wrong about the first thing we butted heads on, and I was tested. :-/

Fazes!

I mean phases. But I really mean doing and trying things!

Health issues have slowed mountain summiting plans, so that is still being trained for, but until my back is less painful and "rumbley" I will train with light packs.

Another phase or change has been Apple Cider Vinegar. I'm drinking it mostly daily and trying other healthy hippie ideas. Refrigerator oats. Arugula!

And I'm going to buy a house! I'm going to move and be a commuter suburb dweller and start a new kind of adult life phase. No more studio apartment- I'll be a gardener! (I just started the process so it'll be a while, but I'm in it for the long haul. (30 year loans! Crazy!))

:-P
(I don't have any photos of the things I talked about- here's kind of where I live seen from the airplane)

Segmented.

Some days I feel awesome. Strong. Alluring. And then I take a picture and wonder if the rolls look like a bug to anyone else...
head, abdomen, thorax, big butt...

All the rolls don't look strong. Well. Maybe they should. It's not an exoskeleton, but it's been an armor for a while, and even though it bruises easily, it has made me stronger than you think!

Is this normal?

Sometimes I am so sure of things. Sure of my feelings or intentions. Sure of what's going to happen. Sure that someone will help me. Or sure that they will let me down.

But when things are upset, when I have no idea what's next, it's scary! Is everyone so sure of things? Or are they usually in this scary unknown? It freaks me out.  It effects things!

This weeks probable things: zits, sleep, decision making, dreams (when I can sleep), concentration, connecting with people (being self-involved), etc.

*cue my pity party

Hot Yoga

A friend was going to a Hot Yoga class, 10 classes for $10, I love to try new things and I went.

It was very hot. Yeah, I know, it's in the title, but it was claustrophobic-ly hot. It felt all kinds of wrong to be that hot and not be trying to cool myself. Seeking shade, a fan, a pool, AC...

I didn't last very long doing actual yoga in that heat; and as I laid on my mat sweat soaked and dripping from every exposed skin surface class went on, and my brain was on repeat:

*You are ok. You are not dying.
*People die from dehydration with water in their canteen, trying to conserve: DRINK!
*Need more water.

In that heat I moved slow and deliberate. As soon as class was over and I was back in regular temps I was giddy. I was soaked, cold, thirsty, and excited to try it again.
Note: While I heard a couple passes of gas, I never smelled anything. And no one had BO. I was worried Hot would = Smelly. Good surprises!
I think I've posted this before, "make your own panty" tutorial, I did! I followed the directions for panties and booty shorts. The shorts were easier to make, but the panties are super cute.

TMI- pms and the all night drug store

I ate a lot this weekend. None of it awful. No pints of ice cream, no frozen pizzas, but I ate A LOT. I tried to remind myself to drink water every time I was about to eat... it worked sometimes.

After work Sunday I went to the gym because of all the eating. After the gym I stopped by the 24 drug store to get a cheap ($2) photo album. I walked down the candy aisle. NEVER walk down the candy aisle alone in the middle of the night during PMS...

I walked down the make-up aisle... If I had unlimited funds I would have picked up a little bit of everything, polish in fun sparkly colors, eye shadows in bolder colors, liquid eye liner because I want to try it...

I walked down the face product aisle... all of a sudden I'm worried about my acne, wrinkles, firmness, lack of tan, and age spots...

And finally I browsed the travel sized section... tiny little bottles are so hard to resist!

Ugh. I left there with $47 worth of stuff precariously stacked. (reusable tote left in the car- I just went in for a photo album!)

Best find: 3 glue sticks for the price of 2 and Necco chocolate wafers
Worst find: $8 photo album that I'm returning.

sore ass meat, yummy dinner meat

Tuesday's practice was a lot of fun. Even though we *practiced* falling on our asses. (I don't need to practice that!) I am still having the big toe joint pain from pushing off on my right foot; I iced my foot, knee, and low back after practice. Followed by putting on some arnica and heat compresses. I also made more skate boot adjustments... OK inside my right skate is 2 foot beds-(super feet for arch and original foam for padding) between the 2 is duct taped the Bunga gel disc pad under where my toe joint impression is. I also loosened trucks and changed to fat laces. (I was told they keep skates tighter in the right places.)

Ready for Wednesday practice?
Honestly I can't remember all the drills on which day, but Wednesday we did some funny "panty passing" drills. People worried about the legality of panty passing, but I enjoyed the additional task while skating, more communication and more attention paying. Rules Schmules. We also did some giant pack drills and sling-shot type hits. It was like playing a video game with people on skates! Awesome!

After practice my right foot was a sort of achy numb, but I de-skated for a few minutes, had a drink at the bar, and went over and skated 90 minutes of adult skate! Including fast skate. I'm not a fast skater, but I will skate as fast as I can!

Odd side note: I drank 2 1/2 (refilled) bottles of water while skating and didn't need to pee. That is how sweaty I was.

On my way home I was dying starving and then remembered pork loin chops in the fridge thawing! I pulled the chops out and made a salad, ate the salad while looking for a simple pork recipe. I hate recipes! I took the "how long it bakes" info and that is all. I mixed bourbon, mustard, cinnamon, powdered onion, salt and pepper, rubbed the chops and let them sit while I chopped an apple in little bits then put apples down, the chops on top, more apples, and poured the rest of the goo over it. Covered with foil and baked. It was good. VERY GOOD. Since then I've also made 2 kinds of chicken for my long work week (4 1/2 shifts in 3 days). I end up eating frozen dinners if I don't pre-make food...

I also spent the rest of the night and into the morning washing my gear and doing laundry. Smells good here!!

Sunday, May 2, 2010

My great week ended on Friday. Here are my highlights:

Monday: Painted walls for SEAF, had a scrimmage practice that I jammed in! And late dinner with friends where the waitress gave us each 4 loaves of bread!

Tuesday: Met and helped the SEAF show director build the set. Had PMS and practice. I also only had 3 days of 4 hours/night sleep so I was not 100%...

Wednesday: Was at SEAF 10A-11P working on the set (and missing practice). The set was entirely made from cardboard, everything had to be cut out, scored, bent, glued, etc. I only got one paper cut!

Thursday: I organized paperwork and cut out surveys before helping finish the set. The director asked me to be a prop in the puppet part of the show and it scares me, but I said yes! Then I went home and got ready for the party. I wore hardly anything, I liked getting ogled as long as they didn't get too close and talk to me! It was funny squeezing through the crowd and rubbing my actual ass cheeks on people! Hahaha!

Friday: I packed food for work (graveyard shift), clothes for work (so I'm not in a garter belt till 8AM), clothes to be a table for the puppet show (all black), and got ready for the Party. There was major wardrobe malfunction (darn striped thigh highs!), but I made it and was only an hour late. (That was "my" late-later than I planned on, not late for the show.) I got to hang out with a friend who had worked security and we watched Twisted Monk do some hot rope bondage magic! Terri left before the main show started (kids and husband at home) and I got to watch the first half. It was amazing- the show was reviewed as a "Must see!" a "greatest hits of Seattle burlesque". Haha! And I was the table for a few minutes for the final puppet scene.

I had a blast! I ran off the stage and to my car and made it to work with 3 minutes to spare. Good thing Van doesn't care that I show up in a whirlwind and super short skirt!

Been at work since and I'm off in 2 1/2 hours. I don't think this week could top last, but here's to trying!

tmi: farty water?!

At work, my really good friend asks me if I drink a lot of water, "yes." Would I drink this "ionized" water and see if it helps me, "with what?" Anything, diabetes, skating, sleeping, energy... After walking the 1.5 gallon jug home from work in freezing temps I start drinking the ionized water... You know, not crazy, but I drink my 8 glasses a day.

Over the next 36 hours I had 2 bm's and continuous gas. After realizing the cause I called my friend, "What is going on?!"

"Do you like the water?" he asks excitedly.

"Um... it makes me fart! What is wrong with it?"

"It's ionized. That's what it does. It cleanses your colon!"

*jaw drop* "Could you warn a girl?! I went to work all farty, I have roller derby!"

"But it'll make your colon pink and shiny, you should see the before and after colonoscopy videos I had to watch before they'd let me buy the ionizer. You might be able to find them on youtube."

No thanks, but thank you for thinking of my colon...

"If your core is warm, you're warm...

and by core I mean 'junk'." My cousin said of his fleece underwear. I wore my snow pants more than once- and we had no snow!! Just temps in the teens.

Last week was busy, this week I took off. I started my debauchery by skipping the only practice I could make it to- to do arts and crafts with my friend and her kids. Then I was in Portland visiting cousins the rest of the week. It was below freezing the whole week- not that I would have exercised if it were warmer... but serious slothiness happened. And gluttony.

Thanksgiving week I ate pie and thought I was doing dietary evil. This week I had fried pie! It's so good! I think everyone should have it once, I had it twice!! It's just bad. (In a really good way!) And Voodoo Doughnuts, again, why stop with one, when two is twice the fat and calorie goodness! Ok, besides those I wasn't that bad... I mean, I shared some cajun tater tots with my cousins at Kennedy High School, and had a Hot Wok fried noodle dish split between 2 meals... I ate some salads too!

I'm finally back at home and acting like a responsible adult, Van Morrison is playing, dishes are being done, some low cal meals have been prepared, and I just might pick up around here; I have 4 hours until I start work.
